A Trailblazer
I was told by my friend I was a trailblazer.
I thought that was a phrase for important people who did amazing things to help the community and change the world. You know, the ones who end up in a history book.
He said this.
You're the first to get tattoos in a family that's semi-traditional Jewish family, the first to not agree with what was ingrained in the family for over several generations, the one who didn't go on birthright, that's not even half of it.
He said, you're paving a path to a door for more family to express how they feel and to do things they may have been scared to do. Maybe there are more people like you in your family then not.
Trailblazing I learned means just being someone to take a step, so others could follow if they chose without feeling scared.
2026, more changes coming. I'm nervous about a lot but hopeful.
