Irrelevant is a word that haunts social media, the internet, elite circles of celebrities, and general popularity as well. Social media as we know it is around 20+ years old with juggernauts from the beginning now barely remembered or wading in the loose sand of the hourglass of being a topic in the ocean of commentary channels. Usually because of a clumsy comeback, as a mockery, or due to a felony charge. It means who you are and your brand you cultivated for years no longer matters to anyone. You're a footnote on a fandom.com page with maybe a few nostalgic people might reference in a reddit post someday.
Recently, Anthony Gramuglia, a media essayist and commentator on relevant events, covered a movie that is most likely the last gasp of another dying juggernaut, the Daily Wire (link here for more context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7uqSjG7IIQ&list=LL&index=3). It became very clear to me and most people it seems that this was a movie designed to offend and ragebait as much as possible. The team pulled out every stereotype, every racist depiction, even getting basic fundamentals of how humans interact to such an extreme contrast to real life that is MUST in some way bring in SOMETHING right? Well...it didn't. In fact, it came and went with little reaction other than people laughing at another failure. They laughed at how desperate the movie looked for attention.
To the team who still owns Daily Wire realized in slow-moving shock that they are now...irrelevant. A corpse that no longer moves or shakes culture, a sad lost meme forever to be used by the elderly on gasp Facebook.
Also, yes, I am aware that I am being overly dramatic but isn't the world of the online space of influencers and flash in the pan trend makers also dramatic? It is what gets your attention. The flash, the scandal, the ballroom of tweeting and shitposts as well as dance around each other with come back after "enlightened" point.
Attention, NO matter what it is, is the blood of the internet. Irrelevancy is Death.
So yes, clammer and beg for attention Daily Wire with tired jokes about how all liberal people have blue hair (never met anyone in my life with blue hair), that will make the libs so mad they will just retweet their dismay all day. Yes, Trump Administration scream how you want to build a giant arch using taxpayer money, oooh that really gets the rage going.
