This Blog Site Reminds me a Piece of the Internet I Forgot About
I found bearblog from a game called kind words 2, how about that for a recommendation?! I used to blog a ton on WordPress but it not only took FOREVER to figure out, but it was also spammed to hell and back by bots. Not a single interaction by a real person. Social media don't even get me started. It used to be fun and now even brands will showcase all the mean garbage people say because that gets attention. I've secretly been wanting to find a way to create a space where we ONLY showcase cool indie shops, DIY, helpful tips, and so on. Just a place for helpful stuff niche to find. I want to do that here along with talking about my creative process with writing and my hobbies.
I was skimming through people's blogs here and it reminds me of all the ways things were in like 2004-2011 with myspace, Tumblr, and early youtube. Not to say the past was picture perfect. In fact, the 2000s in general was pretty messed up in loads of ways but the internet was a haven for a while but I think we lost something along the way. The internet became so small as we entered 2020 when it was once a vast ocean of websites of random nonsense and people sharing very niche topics. There was even a site I found that would randomly send you anywhere. I found interactive art projects, short student films, etc.
I miss when you explored the internet.
Oh if anyone remembers this, there was this website I'm trying to remember the name of it, but it looked like an inflatable tube man. It would dance and play rave music if you clicked on it. It also would avoid the curser. Weird memory.
